There are seven $600,000 luxury suites left unsold at the New Yankee Stadium, according to Bloomberg.com. The Yankees organization isn’t concerned about it. The country is in a bad economic crisis, but the club doesn’t believe that they won’t be able to sell them. There are 47 luxury suites in total, but not all of them will be sold since some will be used for corporate sponsors. Trost wouldn’t answer the question as to how many suites were sold. Suites priced at $850,000 to $650,000 have already been sold out for a minimum of 5 years. Seats at the new ballpark will range anywhere from $12 to $2,500. About 35,000 seaon ticket holders were sent surveys about purchasing seats at the new ballpark, and the Yankees received 30,000 positive responses. As you would think, fans still have interest in buying seats at the new stadium.
Luxury Suite features:
- Indoor and outdoor seating
- High-definition televisions and a private bathroom
- Food isn’t included with the cost, but parking is.
- Eight party suites will be sold on a game-by-game basis.
Lonn Trost speaks:
“We recognize what the fans want. We recognize what the fans abilities are, and we recognize what the economic trends are now and the past and the future,” Trost said. “We are well aware of what is going on in the world and we are well aware of the new stadium.”
“We are reflective of and conscious of the state of the economy,” Trost said in an interview. “From a micro view, we don’t see any evidence of modifications or changes taking place.”
Companies and individuals have purchased suites, though none were sold to Lehman, Bear or AIG, Trost said.
