Derek Lowe seems to want to go back to the Red Sox. He wants to go to a team that is both capable of winning and is eager to win. He believes that place is Boston. He left Boston after the ’04 World Series and signed a big contract with the Dodgers. He is coming off one of his best years in his career, and will be commanding a lot more money. I personally don’t know if the Sox want to bring in a 35 year-old pitcher, and he also had off-the-field issues which made them part way a few years ago.
“I want to be with an organization that’s committed to winning and that can win,” said Lowe, who is scheduled to meet with Dodgers manager Joe Torre this week to discuss his future. “An organization that is going to be there year in and year out and do everything. That’s what means the most to me at this stage of my career.”

Phil Hughes and Austin Jackson both made the AFL All-Star team. The game will be played this Friday at 7:15PM ET. You will be able to follow along with the game on MLB Gameday. Hughes will get the start for the National team. He will be opposed by Braves Prospect, Tommy Hanson.
