According to the Denver Post, the San Francisco Giants might be making a move to obtain Manny Ramirez. The Giants have a great pitching staff, so if they really want to contend this year then this would make sense. They could really use him in that lineup, but I doubt Manny would be happy there.
Footnotes.
The Giants, the NL West’s most active team this winter, are quietly making an aggressive play for free agent Manny Ramirez, according to a major-league source.

In other news, former Yankee, Scott Proctor is headed to the Marlins. He was non-tendered by the Dodgers last month and he is reportedly close to signing a deal with Florida. He is supposedly going to sign a one-year contract worth $750,000, with $250,000 in incentives. I wish Scott Proctor the best of luck next year. He was one of my favorite Yankee relievers.

Why do you doubt Manny would be happy with the Giants? I think he’ll be happy wherever he gets his money.
Well..we all see what Manny did with the Red Sox when things got bad. I’m not saying that will be the case, but it could happen. The Giants are definitely trying to make the team better, but I don’t know how far they will really go. I know Manny already has his rings, but I don’t think Ramirez wants to play for nothing down the stretch. People say he is all about the money, but I think some part of him wants to win some more.
If he came to NY..where you pretty much have the best chance at winning another title..I think he would be more comfortable.
We will have to wait and see what happens.
