The Washington Nationals are supposedly in trade discussions with the New York Yankees. They are interested in both Nady and Swisher. I would trade away Swisher. Nady played great for the Yanks last season, and he is currently our everyday RF. Swisher came to NY to be a starting first basemen, but now that they have Teixeira..they don’t really have a spot for him. There isn’t a great selection of players from the Nats anyway. Nady’s stock is high right now, but I still wouldn’t do it unless they can really fill a need on the roster.

I’d rather trade Nady than Swisher. Nady’s contract is up at the end of this year whereas Swisher is under control for I think three more seasons (which is key because we also lose outfielders Damon and Matsui after this season). Also, Swisher plays more positions and is a switch hitter. Finally, Swisher’s value is low while Nady’s is high (sell high).
Trade Nady for Lastings Milledge to fill our need in CF. He’s young (23), plays good defense and has a lot of offensive upside. As a plus, he’s a burner on the bases and can probably be counted on for 25sb per year.
Along with Nady, I’d also throw Melky in to help Washington cover CF.
