If the Yankees advance to the ALCS, the Yankees plan is to keep Joba Chamberlain in his current role. The Yankees are leaning toward starting Chad Gaudin in a Game 4 rather than Joba. This isn’t set in stone becase the Yankees haven’t advanced yet, but this is what’s expected. It makes sense because you rather have Chamberlain available to impact multiple games, rather than having him as a shaky starter in one. He looks much better in his old role…doesn’t he?

Some people tend to overlook how effect Gaudin has been with the Yankees. The team has gone 6-0 in Gaudin’s starts, and he has carried a 3.19ERA over those games. On the other hand, Chamberlain had a 7.75 ERA in his last 10 starts with a .324BAA.
Chamberlain-Hughes-Rivera is a pretty good trio if you ask me. I’m all for it.
