Aceves ( who is 25 years old) has been a player to watch in the Yankees farm system this year. He has pitched very well for Tampa, Trenton, and now Scranton. He finally got the call on Wednesday that he would join the big league club. He really deserved it. The plan is that he helps out in the bullpen, but that might change. The New York Post reported that the Yankees have placed RHP Carl Pavano on waivers. He is still scheduled to pitch tomorrow, but he is available to any team who wants to obtain him. Honestly..I rather have Aceves pitch tomorrow, as I have absolutely zero confidence in Pavano. I want Pavano to pitch well, but I wasn’t impressed with him in his first outing. People thought he did well, but I disagree. He go lit up early, but settled down. He also got a lucky DP in the first inning, that stopped the flood gates from opening up.
- He was 2-3 with a 4.12 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, walking 13, striking out 42 and allowing 42 hits in 43 2/3 innings
Aceves on his call up to the majors..
“I’m excited to come here,” Aceves said. “It’s a new experience. It’s going to be fun here.”
“It’s amazing,” Aceves said. “My goal was to come here in the States. I made that goal. After that, I was just playing — I didn’t know where I was going to finish. I’m here and it feels good.”

I think Carl the Saviour will have another good if not excellent outing. He needs to find a job for next season, so
he can’t afford to look like the stark opposite of Burnett the Ace.
You were correct. haha. He pitched great.
