I’m a die-hard Yankees fan living on Long Island. I basically started Zell’s Pinstripe Blog to vent my ideas and opinions on the ball club. I’ve been blogging since March of 2008.
I’m a Yankee fan mainly because it runs in the family. My Yankee roots run deep, as my grandfather was a fan back to the days of Gehrig and Ruth. My family basically breeds Yankee fans. Nobody roots for any other team.
My Sports Teams: New York Yankees, New York Rangers, New York Giants, New York Knicks.
Favorite Yankees: Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Bernie Williams, Paul O’Neill, Tino Martinez, Andy Pettitte, Scott Brosius, David Cone, and Phil Hughes.
Most Memorable Yankee Moments: Last out of the 1996 & 2009 World Series, Aaron Boone’s Walk-Off Home Run in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, Watching the Yankees Clinch the AL Pennant in Game 6 of the 2009 ALCS in-person

I’ve been rooting for the Yankees since I got my first pinstriped jersey. It had a number 7 on the back and came in size 2T. Over the the past 42 years, I’ve watched a lot of Yankee baseball – both good and bad. I’ve seen clubhouse fights and clubhouse celebrations, parades through the Canyon of Heroes and Yankees paraded on the back pages of NYC’s tabloids. Through it all, once thing has remained constant: when I’m cut, I bleed pinstripes. My only regret in life is that I never got to succeed Thurman Munson as the catcher for the most amazing team in sports history.
Favorite teams: Yankees. Although I like other sports, no other team can have my allegiance! Favorite Yankees: Fred “Chicken” Stanley, Thurman, Reggie, Chris Chambliss, Dave Righetti, Don Mattingly, Dave Winfield, Bernie Williams, Paul O’Neill, Derek Jeter. Favorite Yankees Moment: Chris Chambliss’ walk-off HR against KC in the 1976 playoffs. Somehow, my dad got tickets!
